How can we treat you?
A common, nonsurgical procedure designed to removed inflamed and/or infected pulpal tissue from the root canal system. Inflamed and infected pulpal tissue arise due to bacterial invasion, fracture and/or trauma to the tooth. Millions of teeth are treated via root canal therapy every year to relieve pain and promote healing of teeth.
Includes many types of symptoms, including pain when chewing, temperature sensitivities, or even the release of biting pressure. It is also common for pain to
come and go, making it difficult to diagnose the cause of discomfort.
It is possible that a nonsurgical root canal therapy will not be enough to save your tooth and that your
endodontist will recommend surgery. Endodontic surgery can be used to locate small fractures or hidden canals previously undetected on X-rays during the initial treatment.
With proper care, you’ll keep teeth that have had root canal treatment for a lifetime, but it is possible for teeth that have received previous endodontic therapy to heal improperly and become painful or diseased months or even years after treatment. If this happens to teeth you have had treated, you have a second
chance to save the tooth with retreatment.
A chipped or fractured tooth crown, can be repaired either by reattaching the broken piece or by
putting a tooth-colored filling in place. If a significant part of your tooth crown is broken off, an
artificial crown or “cap” may be needed to restore it.

Dr. Demetress L. Davis

Demetress has worked in the dental field for 25 years, including 8 years in Endodontics. For the past four years, she has been proving endodontic services for patients of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New York. Demetress has published original research, Barriers to Dental Care for Older Minority Adults, in the journal of Special Care in Dentistry. She is an active member of the National Dental Association and American Association of Endodontics. Demetress is Board Eligible and currently working towards becoming a Diplomate of the American Association of Endodontics.
